How to choose Rojo Alicante marble

The Rojo Alicante is a red marble from Spain that presents a strong and well-defined red colour. We are talking about a fairly famous Spanish marble that together with the Crema Marfil and the Dark Emperador have gained worldwide recognition and reputation.

We present on this video two different surface finishes, which will allow you to understand better the Rojo Alicante. With the polished, we see a deep red colour, where its unique red gets enhanced. The honed surface gives the stone a matt, non-shiny surface, with a more discreet red colour.

The Rojo Alicante is essentially a red coloured marble, presenting a deep red colour, which has a fairly irregular structure where lighter parts of red colour or even orange are visible. This kind of pattern or colour tone variation is very typical and should be expected from the Rojo Alicante. In addition and what makes the Rojo Alicante quite unique is the dramatic white calcite vein that is found on its surface. This white calcite veins can be more or less intense, but generally has an irregular pattern.

The samples we present here are of First grade selection, where the red colour is fairly uniform and the white calcite vein is discreet and elegant. More commercial grades would have a more fussy colour tone variation and wild white calcite veins. The Rojo Alicante is an ideal marble to be used on interior decoration applications such as flooring, coverings, bath design and more. Normally in combination with other coloured marble.
